If you read my last blog, you will know that publishing an audiobook is complicated. Finally, the Daughters of Riga audiobook has made it onto some retail sites: Spotify, Libro FM, and Google Play. Others, including Amazon/Audible will follow in the next week or so. The library sites (Hoopla and Overdrive) may not show the audiobook as available until someone requests it. (You know what to do!)
Just as I was unable to predict the timing of the audiobook’s availability for purchase, I am confused by the variety of prices at which it is offered. The official retail price is $13.95, with a promotional launch price of $12.55 until March 18. However, the price at which Daughters of Riga is offered (on March 13) ranges from $9.99 (Spotify) to $14.43 (Libro FM). All of which proves there are distinct skill sets involved in being a published writer, and in my case the writing skill set does not carry over to the publishing skill set.
But I ‘m grateful to have the audiobook version out in the world, and especially grateful to have a wonderful narrator, Jayne Entwistle, voicing my characters. Wherever you find it, and whatever price, I do hope you enjoy the audio version of Daughters of Riga.
